Many people will be home canning for the first time this season because more people grew their own produce this year due to the slow economy. If you are new to canning, here are 3 things you must know before you start.

1. Always use brand new lids - You will want to make sure you always buy new lids when you are canning. You will not want to reuse lids as they will not properly seal your canning jars. You can reuse canning jars and bands from year to year. Just make sure you always check the jars for any cracks or chips, especially around the rim. If a chip in on the rim of the jar you will not get a proper seal of your canned goods.

2. Always follow the recipe and instructions - Canning is very easy and safe as long as you follow the recipe and the instructions. If you adjust the amount of sugar in a jam or jelly recipe for instance, you may not get it to gel properly. More importantly, you will always make sure you process your canning jars for the proper amount of time. Remember to adjust the processing time based on your elevation.

3. Always Use the Proper Canning Methods - You will also want to ensure you process low acid foods using a pressure canner. Never process foods such as meats and  most vegetables using the boiling water canning method. For safety's sake always process foods using the proper canning method for the recommended time.

So, as you can see, these are three things you need to know before you start home canning. They will ensure you have a beautiful and safe end product.

When a paper jam occurs, a warning message appears on the display screen. Refer to the instructions below to locate and clear the jam

IMPORTANT - Whenever removing paper do so without tearing. Fragments of paper left over become harder to remove. *NOTE: The message provides a guide to location of jammed paper. If paper is not located in the suggested area, proceed to the next related area within the machine.

In some instances after clearing the jam, the Front Door must be opened and closed before error message will disappear.

Multi Purpose Tray

When you are printing using the 'Multi-purpose' Tray and the machine detects that there is no paper or it has been improperly loaded, follow the steps

STEP ONE
Check if the sheet is caught in the feeding area, if so grip it with both hands and gently and slowly pull it toward you.
If you cannot find the jammed sheet, or if there is any resistance removing the sheet, stop pulling, close the multi-purpose tray and go to step two.

STEP TWO
Remove the paper tray from the machine and lay on a flat surface

IMPORTANT
When removing the paper tray always keep the tray horizontal until it has been cleared
from the machine. Failure to do so can result in dislodging the tray sensor.

STEP THREE
Release and lift the 'inner cover' by pushing the two green levers.

With the 'inner cover' in the raised position,grip the sheet evenly and gently pull until it is clear of the tray.

Lower the 'inner cover' until it clicks back into place.

Replace the tray back into the machine, ensuring that the tray is kept horizontal.

If you cannot find any jammed paper in this area, go to step four.

Paper Feed Area
If a jam is in the feed area; follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

IMPORTANT - The four OPC's [green imaging rollers] are light sensitive and will be affected when exposed to light. DO NOT keep the front door open for extend time.

STEP FOUR
Using the handle open the front door and lower until it is completely open.

Jammed paper in this area should be protruding from under one of the green imaging rollers.

Grip the sheet evenly on both edges and remove by gently pulling. It is important to avoid tearing it so remove carefully and slowly.

IMPORTANT - Do NOT rush the removal of jammed paper. It is important not to tear the paper so as to leave hard to retrieve paper Fragments.

Close the door firmly and the machine will resume printing.

If you cannot find the jammed paper or if there is any resistance removing paper, stop pulling and go to Step Five. Rollers are light sensitive!

STEP FIVE
Close the front door.

Remove the paper tray. [Keep tray horizontal when removing]

A jam in this area will become visible when the tray is removed, gently pull it straight out.

Align paper tray with the slot and slide back into the machine.

Open the front cover [door] and close it. The machine will resume printing.

Fuser Area
If paper is jammed in the fuser unit area, follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

The Fuser is hot, when removing jammed paper from this area exercise caution and allow the machine to cool for approximately 5 minutes.

STEP SIX
Lift up the top cover until it is fully extended. [Note: Clearing jams in this area are also covered by the decal under the cover]

Open the inner cover by using the handle.

With the 'inner cover' raised, the fuser assembly becomes visible. The Fuser will be hot, observe high temperature warning label.

Raise the cover over the Fuser and lift the two green 'paper jam levers' that sit at either end.

Raising the 'paper jam levers' releases pressure on any jammed paper in this area.

Any paper jammed in the Fuser will become visible, carefully remove taking care not to tear and leave any paper fragments in the fuser.

Return both green levers to their operating position

IMPORTANT - Any fragments of paper left in any of the 'paper jam areas' will result in the Jam Message re-occurring when machine is switched back on. If there is no paper jammed in this area, follow step seven

Paper Exit Area
If paper is jammed in the paper exit area, follow the next steps to release the jammed paper.

STEP SEVEN
The 'paper exit area' is that part of the machine where copied/printed paper exits the machine.

If a long portion of the paper is visible from the front of the exit area, pull it straight out.

Open and close front door firmly and the machine will resume printing. If there is no paper jammed paper in this area or there is any resistance to removing paper, stop pulling and go to next procedure.

Open the top cover/scan unit.

The paper exits into the paper tray from underneath the cover of the 'reverse unit'.

Open the cover of the 'reverse unit' using the handle on it.

Carefully remove the jammed paper out of the paper exit path.

If there is any resistance in removing the paper or difficulty gripping the paper, stop pulling and turn the green 'release wheel' to remove any caught paper.

Close the cover of the 'reverse unit'. If you cannot find the jammed paper in the exit path, or there is resistance stopping pulling and go to the next step.

At the rear of the machine, lower the door.

If paper is visible remove and check for paper which may be jammed in other parts of the machine. • When all paper has been removed, close rear door and resume printing.

General Information:

The giant pangolin is the largest species of pangolin, or "scaly anteaters", in the world. Its behavior is not widely known due to its nocturnal nature. It is classified as a "Least Concern" species, but still faces pressure from habitat destruction and hunting. It is hunted as bushmeat, and is also considered by some to have medicinal properties.

Physical Description:

The most distinctive feature of the pangolin are its overlapping scales, which can be brownish-red in color, and give it the appearance of having armor. It also has a long prehensile tail, which is also scaled. Its head is small, long, and pointed. To facilitate its dietary habits, the giant pangolin has 5 long, curved claws per foot, and a long sticky tongue. It uses the former feature to dig and the latter to lap up its meal.

Diet:

As with all other pangolins, the giant pangolin is a specialized insectivore. It lacks both teeth and the ability to chew, comprising its diet almost entirely on ants and termites. When gathering its prey, it puts its claws and tongue to good use, tearing into termite nests and anthills and them lapping up its unearthed food.

Habitat:

The giant pangolin is a denizen of the savanna and the forest (including the rainforest). It occurs in areas where termites are abundant, and near water. Its range spans across the equator of Africa, from western Africa to Uganda, with the highest concentration existing in Uganda, Tanzania, and western Kenya.

Reproduction:

As mentioned above, there are many aspects of the giant pangolin's behavior that remains unknown to us. However, what is known is that young pangolins are born with open eyes and soft scales. They, at first, cannot walk on their legs but are able to move on their stomachs.

If you are looking for easy steps on how to board an airplane, you will want to read this article. To make air travel less stressful and easy, plan to arrive at the airport early. Have all of your documents readily available and checked luggage packed appropriately. Ensure your carry-on luggage is organized, wear proper clothing and you will fly through security. Plan ahead. Plan to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure time for a domestic flight. If you are taking an international flight, allow at least two to three hours prior to your flight. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Slip on, slip off shoes make it easier and faster to go through security since all shoes must be removed prior to going through the scanner. Double check to make certain you have all of your items before exiting the security check-point area. Once through security, check the gate information and be at the departure gate no later than thirty minutes prior to departure. Most airlines board domestic flights thirty minutes prior to departure and international flights forty-five minutes prior to departure. Have your boarding pass ready and listen to the boarding announcements. Board with your group or zone number, stow your carry on luggage in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you. After stowing your luggage, step into your row so other passengers can get to their seats. There is a lot of pressure on the airline staff for an on time departure. Nearly all of the airlines have adopted the practice of closing the passenger door to the aircraft ten minutes prior to departure. This makes certain the aircraft is physically pushed back from the gate at departure time. Arrive at the gate early so you don't get left behind.

Many rumors are popping up about iPad 2 specification in these days. It's pretty hard to believe that Apple would release a new version of the iPad without seriously updating the specs, especially now that there will be considerably more competitors in the tablet market by the time that the iPad 2 rolls around. No! I believe iPad's display will be improved in other ways - brighter, better power consumption, thinner, perhaps. But it's not 2048 × 1536 or any other "super high resolution".

Keeping the screen at 1024×768 allows Apple to keep its price advantage over other tablet PC while keeping high margins.
